# Overview

In its early stages, UniPort initiated asset cross-chain technology based on a relatively centralized multi-signature cold wallet approach. However, the UniPort.Network team has consistently been committed to exploring a more decentralized, censorship-resistant, and secure asset cross-chain solution. Specifically targeting non-smart contract chains such as Bitcoin and non-smart contract chains like Ethereum, UniPort adopts a differentiated technological approach to achieve a more decentralized asset cross-chain solution.
