Uniport Bridge is also dedicated to exploring cross-chain infrastructure for smart contract chains such as Ethereum, aiming to achieve more decentralization, trustlessness, and scalability in asset cross-chain transactions through zero-knowledge proof (zk) technology.
Uniport's zk cross-chain technology implementation is optimized under the Cosmos IBC framework. The primary drawback of IBC, which achieves cross-chain asset transfers through light clients, is the high cost and technical complexity of deploying light clients on heterogeneous chains for mutual communication. Uniport Bridge introduces zk technology to address this challenge, aiming to significantly reduce the cost of cross-chain transactions and enhance the user experience in asset cross-chain transfers by generating zk proofs off-chain and verifying them on-chain.
In addition, Uniport Bridge optimizes existing zk proof generation systems and introduces the UniVirgo proof system. UniVirgo combines the advantages of ZKP algorithms Libra and Virgo, with the goal of significantly reducing the generation time of zkSNARKs proofs. Other features of the UniVirgo algorithm include parallel processing, performance optimization, and the implementation of zk proofs' recursive composition to reduce on-chain verification costs and proof size.
